Story & Atmosphere
Cocineros Mexican Grill, located in Pomona, California, is a standout seafood market and Mexican eatery that truly captures the essence of authentic Mexican cuisine. From the moment you step in or place your order, you notice the dedication to fresh ingredients and genuine flavors that set this place apart from typical fast-food joints. The homemade tortillas and vibrant salsas, particularly the beloved salsa roja, complement each dish perfectly, creating a harmonious taste experience that resonates with both locals and visitors.
What makes Cocineros Mexican Grill remarkable is its wide variety of offerings. Whether you crave the richly seasoned Al Pastor burrito Mexicano or the comforting warmth of their signature soups—pollo, res cocido, or mixed seafood—the menu caters to diverse palates while maintaining an impressive consistency in quality and flavor. The inclusion of rice and beans with many plates adds to the hearty, restaurant-quality meals that invite you to savor every bite.
Beyond the food, the customer service shines as a defining feature. Friendly staff ensure quick, efficient service for both dine-in and large takeout orders, making every visit seamless and enjoyable. The welcoming atmosphere and option to dine inside or outside allow guests to relax and absorb the vibrant spirit of Mexican culinary tradition.
Personally, I find myself drawn to the breakfast selections, a ritual shared by many patrons who rely on Cocineros for a fruitful start to their day. The balance of flavors, freshness, and portions consistently impress. While some dishes like the chilaquiles with steak and eggs might slightly vary in texture, the seasoning and overall taste never fail to deliver.
In summary, Cocineros Mexican Grill stands as a beacon of authentic Mexican seafood and traditional dishes in Pomona. Its blend of fresh seafood, handmade components, and heartfelt preparation creates a compelling dining experience that invites repeated visits and enthusiastic recommendations.
“ The food is very good and delicious and there is no way I really love this place. I will recommend everybody to come again and try the best food in Pomona. ”
“ Love this place it's one of my favorite spots to eat in Pomona always fresh and friendly service! I get a variety of items here but my favorite to go to is the Al Pastor burrito Mexicano. The salsa roja pairs well with it. The tacos are great too. ”
“ Love their authentic food and salsa! Good prices too for the area. Homemade tortillas and great service. Can’t wait to come back next Tuesday :) ”
“ This place constantly has people coming in to pick up their large phone orders and it makes sense because their food is pretty good. They have a wide variety of Mexican dishes and plates come with rice and beans/ great quality - less like fast food but more restaurant quality food. We ordered 3 different soups to try: the chicken (pollo) soup, beef (res/ cocido) and the mixed seafood (mixto), there is also option of ordering the fish soup or the shrimp soup. The seafood (mixto) soup contains both shrimp and fish ('Swai' I believe - for people with specific fish allergies, but you should ask to make sure) and each soup has its veggies, freshly cooked and served with a side of corn chips. The chicken and beef soups are served with a side of rice but not the seafood soups. The soups are big enough to share (2 people) if needed. In addition the restroom is always clean and well kept. It feels good to eat food that tastes like a home cooked meal I look forward to trying more items on the menu ”
“ The service is always good! The food even better! Nice cold days calls for the Caldo! ”
